Charlotte Graduate Chapter Groove Phi Groove SFI® Scholastic Foundation

Julian Tingle
President

Julian Tingle currently serves as President for the Charlotte Graduate Chapter, Groove Phi Groove SFI® Scholastic Foundation 501(c)(3). Tingle’s dedication to community service has been proven by his previous position as Head Coach and Athletic Director for the Charlotte Westside Rams Youth Football organization for which he served for 12 years. Tingle has also served as a Tutor Counselor for The Howard University Upward Bound Trio Program for which he served for 3 years. As a current Mentor for Castle Heights Middle School in Rock Hill, SC Tingle shows his consistent interaction with the youth and community. His involvement is intended to assist youth with developing  life coping skills/techniques that relate to the needs, concerns, and troubles that they face in today’s society.

Roger Brown
Vice-President

Roger L. Brown currently serves as a Director for the Charlotte Groove Phi Groove SFI Scholastic Foundation. Since moving to Charlotte in 2018, Roger has been an active member of the Charlotte Graduate Chapter of Groove Phi Groove in which he continues his community service and activism.

Roger served as President of the Charleston Graduate Chapter of Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship for two consecutive years. Under his leadership, the Charleston Chapter of Groove Phi Groove noted an increase in membership and chapter participation in various community service activities.

Roger retired in 2018 as Fleet and Supply Chain Manager for the College of Charleston in South Carolina.

Natiela Stuckes
Secretary

Natiela Stuckes is an active member of the Charlotte community with memberships in the Human Service Club and Trio Club. Natiela earned an Associates Degree in Human Services Technology from Central Piedmont Community College and a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Walden University. Since obtaining her bachelors Natiela has went on to continue her education to receive her Masters in Social Work. Natiela is also a Registered Substance Abuse Counselor by the state of North Carolina. Natiela Stuckes owns and operates a behavioral health and home health agency in Charlotte, NC metropolitan area.

Natiela specializes in organizational structure which refers to the type of framework a company uses to distinguish power and authority, roles and responsibilities, and the manner in which information flows through an organization. Natiela spends her spare time with her family, traveling and reading.

Wallace Davis, Jr.
Treasurer

Wallace H. Davis, Jr. is presently a board member of Groove Phi Groove SFI® Charlotte Graduate Scholastic Foundation. Wallace is currently serving his third term on the State Employees Credit Union Advisory Board. Since 2014, he is serving as a board member for his church, The Church of the Open Door.

Wallace has coached in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system for over 40 years. He is currently the head coach of the boy’s track team at West Mecklenburg High School. He has taught in the CMS system for 31 years, from which he retired June 2011.

Steve Hamilton
Director

Steven Hamilton currently serves as Secretary for the Charlotte Graduate Chapter, Groove Phi Groove Scholastic Foundation 501(c)(3).  Hamilton’s dedication to community service has been proven with his previous position as Secretary for Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship, Inc. Charlotte Graduate Chapter.     

As a previous member of the Board of Directors for the Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter Inc., shows his continued interaction with the community through these Organizations. His involvement is intended to promote self-awareness and unity amongst men.  The development of the youth is vital to the success of our communities.

David Hughes
Director

David Hughes is a graduate of Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. During David’s years at JCSU, he excelled in Track & Field; so much that he has been inducted into JCSU’s Hall of Fame for his contributions in Track & Field. He retired from Financial Freedom Planners after 20+ years as a sales consultant. 

 David has actively supported the Charlotte community through his 25+ years of work as a deacon at the Greater Providence Baptist Church, Charlotte, his active membership in the JCSU 100 Club, and his volunteer work with the David Cox Elementary reading program. When not volunteering, David spends time reading, engaging in photography, and traveling in the U.S. and abroad.

Ralph Riley
Director

Ralph Riley graduated from Prairie View A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Ralph also received a Master’s degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.

Ralph has over 45 years in construction as a Project Engineer-Technician, a Safety Manager, Safety Director and Workforce Development Programs Manager. In 2018, he retired from an engineering and construction company.
