CLT Grad Chapter of Groove
Education is the cornerstone of community transformation. Through the Groove Scholarship Program, we provide crucial financial assistance to Charlotte-area high school seniors and college freshmen. Since 2022, we have proudly awarded scholarships ranging from $250 to $1,000 to help students overcome financial barriers to higher education.
When you donate to our scholarship fund, you aren’t just giving money; you are investing in excellence and providing a pathway for young scholars to achieve their boldest goals. Together, we are not just building scholars—we are building stronger communities.
High School Graduates: 
We proudly awarded scholarships to three recent high school graduates, supporting their educational journeys as one attends a local community college and two young women begin their studies at NC A&T and NCCU.
Spring 2026 Scholars: We invested $1,500 across three promising young men.
Jamir Sanders, an ambitious freshman accounting major with global career goals, received our premier $1,000 Groove Fund Matching Scholarship to attend Johnson C. Smith University.
Kennedy Kasonde, a driven biology honors student aiming for medical school, received a $250 award.
Alvis Wilson received a $250 award to support his journey in Culinary Arts.
2025 Scholars: We partnered with the UNC Charlotte 49er Alumni Chapter and Groove International to present two $1,000 scholarships.
Darryl Fisher received a $1,000 scholarship to study Biology at Livingstone College.
Oluwole Olugbamila received a $1,000 scholarship to pursue a Business major at UNC Charlotte.
